Ertifferrah Written By: Elay Understood CHAPTER 39 DISHONEST...Elay TV Content Creator
Ertifferrah slowly rose from her slumber feeling rested and relieved in knowing that she was home and that she still had the capability to return. Mind on Octavious, she giggled to herself wondering which page he was on now.
Her appetite was quite strong this morning even though she had eaten a hearty dinner on Earth. It was just a little experiment she had tried to see if, in fact, the food from that world would hold up in the next. Obviously not.
Either it was an eclipse right now or the sun was already setting because, if it was morning, it sure was dark. It was rare for the skies of Akasha to darken, even when it rained.
Longing for a platter of fresh fruits and home-style flat cakes drenched in heavy honey syrup, she headed for the kitchen, stomach growling.
A lot of time had seemed to pass since she’d been back. Upon realizing that, she made a quick detour in search of her mother and father.
In a guestroom that was off on its own, in a corner of the large house, she found her mother and grandfather. He stayed with them on occasion as if using their house for a winter retreat. Ertifferrah was glad to see him again because that meant Grandmother was there too. She could really use some advice.
She didn’t want to make her presence known yet, so she chose to only poke her head in the door for a minute or two. Upon doing so, she saw her mom quickly and carefully remove a necklace from around her grandfather’s neck. The shimmering chain had a diamond-shaped emerald attached to the end with a large key. Ertifferrah could tell the pendant had some weight to it, that was for sure.
In disbelief over what she had seen her mother doing, Ertifferrah thought to herself and tried to grasp a logical answer for what she was seeing.
I thought Grandpa said his necklace was never to be removed unless he himself did it or, his wife, Grandma took it off.
She hadn’t the slightest clue as to why it couldn’t be removed, but out of sheer love and respect for her grandparents, she had always honored their request—no questions asked.
Not wanting to see more, Ertifferrah rushed off to her room, quickly closing the door behind her. Exhaling deeply, she slowly slid down the back of the door until her butt met the plush carpet. Head in her hands, thinking over the scene of her what she had just seen her mother doing, she could find no explanation for her actions. The deceiving look of malicious victory on mother’s face made her guilty; making what she saw…the truth…
Never taking mother as a dishonest person, she couldn’t face the truth. She’s so honest that she even told the guys who landscaped their yard that she couldn’t pay them that month simply because she had spent their money buying a golden gown for the rapidly approaching gala. Touched by her honesty, they had been understanding and thought nothing of it because mother is known to be a woman of her word. Being that the banks were closed for the evening, she promised them first thing in the morning to withdraw the money and give them a little extra for their trouble.
We aren’t extremely rich, but we’re well-off enough to not really want for too much of anything. So what would mother need with grandfathers’ old pendant, Ertifferrah thought.
Deciding to ignore the situation, she went back towards the kitchen to fix breakfast.
Hours passed and Ertifferrah became anxious to see Octavious. Hardly knowing whether she was in Akasha or back on Earth, she drank the potion Lady Governess had given her and soon after, Ertifferrah drifted to sleep.
