This was all too strange Ertifferrah thought, waking up in a sweat, still on the floor where she collapsed last night. “Ugh, what’s this on my face?” she asked lifting her face out of the slimy potion. Rubbing the goo from her eyes, she realized. “Oh, no, it spilled! The vial must have broken, I must have collapsed after drinking too much of the, huh, now I have to ask Lady Governess for more. What will she think of me? How irresponsible!” She rolled over on her side and lay there for a bit, trying to figure out what to do.
Slowly picking herself up off the floor, she looked around; the bed seemed to call out to her, for she was still absolutely tired. “How am I going to go to school today? I can’t do it. I’m too off-centered to focus on my studies, maybe if I request-
“Knock, knock.” It was the door. “Ertifferrah, my sweet, are you okay in there? It’s time for you to wake. Your father and I saw you asleep on the floor last night, is everything alright?”
“Yes, mother, I decided to do my homework on the floor, and I guess I fell asleep, that’s all.”
“Okay.”
“Close one,” She thought. There was no way in the world, she’d be able to make it through the day in class, but she wanted to go just to keep her mind off of what happened during last night’s dream.
After showering, she went back into the bedroom and gathered her belongings, “Oh, no, I didn’t do my homework!” There wasn’t any time to even make an earnest attempt to maybe finish half of the worksheet. Maybe she shouldn’t have taken such a long shower, then, possibly, she could have had time to complete her homework.
Ertifferrah’s mind was still moving pretty slowly. “Ugh, I know I shouldn’t go to school today. Lady Governess did say to take as many days off as I needed. This is sound advice that I’m going to follow. She slipped off her sandals and dove into bed.

Before walking out of the bedroom, she took one more look in the long mirror and noticed the natural puffiness around her eyes had gone away, giving her face a more youthful look. Either it was the long, hot shower, or the cool, gooey, potion that stuck to her face all night. Regardless, Ertifferrah was pleased with the results!
Having a notion that the potion was behind it all, she grew delighted in discovering a way to fiddle another vial of potion from Lady Governess “Think I’ll also tell her, that I used some in my bathwater as well! With this story, she just knew it would work.
The aroma of her favorite breakfast dish didn’t fill the halls this morning, which meant, her mother had already gone to work. Holding a warm saucer of hot cereal, she went back to her room. Since no one was home, she left the door open.
Outside, the sky was clear. As always, the atmosphere provided a slow yet steady breeze. It was a pleasure to be born on such a wonderful planet, there wasn’t a place which could compare, but then again, she had grown fond of her dream world, for it was there that she truly felt as though she was becoming part of something.
Thinking of the dream and what it could have possibly meant, and whether she could dream of hr jock god, Octavious, once again. From the combination of imagining him and her together, along with the hot breakfast she has just eaten, Ertifferrah felt so soothed that she fell asleep again.
**
A bumblebee buzzed around her ears waking her. Looking at the sundial, she saw there was still before class let out, and enough time to pay a visit to Lady Governess before her mother and father arrived home from work.
First, she needed to change into a suitable gown. Pulling back the fabric door that led to the closest, she looked through a mixture of gowns that ranged from casual to exceptional; along with jewelry that truly reflected her character. “What should I wear?” Looking through the closet, she spotted the perfect gown smashed between the wall and a cream-colored garment bag.
She chooses a royal blue robe trimmed with thick, teal fringe that was elegantly threaded with golden stitches and other elaborate embroideries which brought out not only the rest of her wardrobe but her stunning face as well; a face that required no makeup. The earrings she chose were long and practically touched the tips of her shoulders. They were golden and looked exquisite on her.
Her hair was pinned in a chic ponytail that only she could wear with taste. If some other girls tried to portray this same style, they wouldn’t be able to pull it off as well as her. That’s one thing at least, Ertifferrah thought she had going for her, the gift of coordination! She knew how to dress and style her hair; staying in the latest fashions was a mere walk in the park.

Across from the entrance was a long rectangular plot of bright, lush grass. The corners were rounded off and a sidewalk skirted its edges. She lifted the robes slightly before taking a seat in the grass. Inhaling the fresh air relaxed her and allowed the tension in her mind to subside.
Looking at the pillars that circle quarters, she counted eight. Although she knew there stood eight, she couldn’t help pondering the story told about them. It was once said that each pillar represented something astronomical, something so profound, that a government summoned an elite group of people to cover it up, or in other words, ‘protect’ the people of their nation from knowing further about it.
It is said that the elite did their work at nightfall and was under strict commands to do whatever it took to keep the truth of what those pillars really represented.
“Myth or not, whatever those pillars represented was something big, something important.” Thought Ertifferrah.
