In the land of Akasha, a meeting develops into a brief confrontation.
“Sometimes, I just don’t know why we’re here and why some of us are given second chances and not others. The question is who is the ultimate one who decides? Who is the one who makes the choice to close the book on one person and start a new life with others?”
The dull voice of Mrs. Amplitude rattled on to the ears of the people gathered around the smoky black table.
Who has the audacity to not carry on a legacy, and a fine one at that? We’ve been loyal and received no rewards for it, have we not?! I think it is high time we put an end to this mischief before Octavious and that stupid girlfriend of his stumbles across something and unfolds everything we’ve all worked so long and so hard for!”
“I agree, but if we move too fast, we still run the risk of missing the perfect opportunity to begin,” Mertekert replied. “The ceremony draws near, and soon the chance to unlock the portal to our time of reign will be lost forever.” Reaching into a sack, she pulled out the necklace she had taken from around her father’s neck while he was asleep. “I have the key…”
The others fell silent as they observed the key in amazement.
“So the best time to strike is still going to be the night of Akasha’s formal Gala. We get one shot and one shot only,” a tall man with a toned body spoke in an attempt to re-focus the group.
“We aren’t allowed more time?” Mrs. Amplitude questioned.
“You of little faith! WE WON’T NEED MORE TIME!” Lady Governess bellowed out as she rose to her feet.
“And what makes you so sure, My Lady? How long has it been now?” Brinks asked, listlessly. “There is no convincing him, and you know that. This pains me as much as it does you, but if he refuses to join us willingly in our phenomenal movement, then he must be put down–and as barbaric as this may sound, sacrificing our son will be the best way!” Brinks slammed his fists on the table. “It’s an honor, if he unwillingly chooses not to be with us, then it is in death that we will get what we want. If he does not join us alive, then he will join us at this moment through death.”
Cheers from the others clattered around the darkened room as they agreed to his firm statement.
Humbly sitting down in her seat, Lady Governess tried to stay composed but grew pale over the thought of possibly having to use their son, Octavious, as the sacrifice.
“Don’t look so glum, My Lady,” said a small voice from a row of on-lookers on the sideline of the meeting table.
Someone who sat at the table clothed in dark garments spoke,
“Octavious is a Deity and deserves one more attempt at persuading him to join us as we may combine forces on that night. We need his Earth element to ascertain strength to open the portal and to have the ultimate Earth element consume us so that we can rein first in our land and then on Earth. There can and will be one God only. Give him one more chance to join us.”
