The door opened, slowly, to a room filled with green fog.   


Someone whispered to her. It sounded as if it came from the corners of the room.


“Wha? Who said that?!  Is someone there?!” 


“Come closer!” It was the voice of a male


“Huh?”


“Come closer…


Moving forward, she felt her muscles tighten as she approached a table where the voice came from.  Extending her hand to pull the dusty cover off, she stared wide-eyed as the mystery was slowly revealed.


It was a frayed brown book.  


“That’s it?” She voices loudly, a bit disappointed and relieved at the same time. “If this is just a book, then who was talking to me?”


Rising from off the table, the book began to glow, pages rustled and flipped, stirring up abrasive winds, making her hair fly wildly around. 


Afraid, she screamed loudly and ran began running away.


“ERTIFFERRAH….”  The book spoke in a ghostly voice.


“I must be dreaming. I must be dreaming. This is nothing more than a dream!”  


The book glowed so brightly, it hurt her eyes. With an arm raised to blot the light, she ran back to the door that led to her imaginary pier. 


The book spoke again projection every syllable: ERTIFFERRAH NUBITI DJOSER!  


Dead in her tracks, she stopped. 

“Unbelievable…” She uttered.


The book calmly spoke again, knowing that it had her attention. “Come back. Sit down”. 




She peered at the book as it floated to a large stand with three bear claws at the ends of each leg of the stand. 


“How’d you know my name?” 


“There are many things I know and, in time, you will soon find out.  You did not arrive here by chance, young queen, for the time to strike is nigh…”


“A time to strike…? - Strike what?”


“You shall see, in a matter of time now, you shall see…Open your eyes, young queen, for the time draws nigh…Come, come here.” 


The book continued, “This room has been hidden away from the rest of the world for a reason, but now is the time for all of that to change.  TAKE ME, as one of your gifts, and I promise you…” the voice trailed off, and Ertifferrah saw smoke swirl around the room. The voice began again, and this time, as it spoke, the pages glow golden yellow, so brightly she felt the warmth from it touches her face. The book continued; “I promise you…THE SUN!”

  Assuming that nothing else could go wrong, Octavious headed to his bedroom chambers, ran water for a long, hot, shower, and prepared himself as best as he could for what was to come in Erica’s book.
