The white door which he once had rested against was cracked, allowing her an easy opportunity to make a quiet entrance.

As she slid across the plush white carpet, the heavy white door opened to a secret paradise…

Her first notion was to take off her sandals because the room was so sterile.  She didn’t want to dirty the carpet.

His room literally looked as if a piece of heaven had been taken out and placed here. Bright whites and gold’s glazed the walls.  From the computer to the white palm trees, that lined the sides of his wall, that was accented with golden cocoanuts. The sun beamed down through the panels of his solar lights, that reflected off his silver closet filled with white, crisp freshly starched clothes.  From the shelves, back to the floor that eloquently blended from lush carpet to wooden planks painted white.  Golden and silver specks were submerged in his wall that stood as tall as the mountains in Akasha.

Further, into the room, she walked until between her and the opportunity to see more was another door.  A little worn around the hinges, it had that vintage look that she liked and it was more than obliged to open.

Warm steam slowly wound through the crack of the door as she pulled it towards her.  The smell of soft cologne and red roses engulfed her senses as she deeply inhaled fragrances only found in Akasha.

Her skin developed a sleek coat of moisture and the steam danced and rolled off her body the longer she stayed in the cream-colored room.  Enjoying how the droplights lit everything, providing just enough light to set the tone for privacy,

“Erica.”

The sound of Octavious’ voice both startled and refreshed her.

“Yes?” she answered.

“Erica.”  He now whispered into her ear, startling her once more, for he had moved around her quickly. “You’re too tense.  You need to relax…” he said, massaging her shoulders.

“Come with me.”

She sheepishly followed.

“Here, sit here.” He motioned.  “Erica, there’s so many things about you that I admire: your honesty, your beauty, your friendship…” he paused, “and that’s not all, the list is continuous… and I can go on forever listing the many things...”

Getting down on one knee, he continued, “Which is why I want you to take my hand and be my honey-dip forever so that I can spend forever telling you each and every day how wonderful and amazing you are because it will take me forever and three days to get through my list about you.”

“Erica, I…I read what you wrote in the bear notebook.  I read everything and that was all the confirmation in the world I needed to reassure me that I need to make you my wife…”

Pausing to take a deep breath, he reached for small, silver, vase that stood behind her.  As he removed the yellow tulips and poured the water out, the ring glided into his calm hand.

“I know this is fast, but, I knew so soon that this is what I want…so, Ertifferrah, will you wear my promise ring?”

“Yes!” Erica whispered with tears of joy…

“I knew you’d say it!” he exclaimed.

Taking her hand he slipped the ring on her slender finger.

He scooped her up and spun her around several times until they both became dizzy and fell down.

Filled with laughter and excitement, Octavious spoke. “You can wear the ring when we go to the Seniors’ Choice Bash.”

“Oh yeah, that’s right!  The Bash is almost here.  Guess I forgot about it with all the so weird stuff happening.”

Still, on the floor, he propped himself up “Erica, Ertifferrah…Erica…?  Which name do I like best?” he asked himself, pondering as he balanced his hands up and down like a scale.  Up and down, up and down, his arms motioned, stopping finally on Ertifferrah. “Both names are awesome, but being that ‘Ertifferrah’ is your true birth name from Akasha, it’s more beautiful—naturally.”  He said the name again, letting it hang in the air.  “But we’ll just have to keep that between you and me though, so I’ll keep on calling you Erica, okay?”

“No need to ask. That will be fine.”

The sun shined through the tan blinds of his bedroom, hitting the matching promise band that Octavious wore around his finger.  Sapphire specks flickered on the walls and floor, glistening like the sun that sparkled off the ocean waves.  The moment put both of them on their own, little private island.

Not wanting to ruin the moment, Erica huffed loudly in annoyed anguish as she remembered what happened back in the blue room.

“Uh, Octavious? Uh, I have to ask you something.”

“What is it, boo?” he asked from an over-sized white leather chair on which he was now leaning.

“Sorry to dull the moment, but when you blacked out, I went to get you some pillows from out of a room, and…”

He tensed, waiting for her to continue, hoping that she wouldn’t say she’d gone into the blue room but already knowing that, indeed, that was the case.  Not wanting to alarm her about the possible consequences of her entry into the room, he interrupted so as to play down the intense moment.

“Was it the blue room?”

“Yeh, yes…” she answered with hesitance.

Ugh, I knew it!  Why’d she had to go into that one!?

“Octavious, what’s wrong?”

“Hang on one sec, Erica.”  Smoothing his hand over his black hair, he laughed a little to himself. “Man, I didn’t want this moment to end, so, uh, before we get into that...” he said while taking his shirt off with a sly smile, “Let’s get into this…”
