Ertifferrah Written By Elay Understood - Chapter 2 - The Sun Goddess!! --- Elay TV Content Creator

In the oblong reflection of the full-length mirror, there she stood. And yes, that’s what I said, for it wasn’t me who stood there anymore but a Sun Goddess.  How beautiful I looked! How beautiful I felt! My hair flowed free, filled with dozens of wild curls as they twined around; like the flames that shot from the sun.  The garment draped around me was golden as gold could be but never comparing to the sun. Defining that color is impossible.

Bangles and other odd-shaped bracelets of gold accented the golden flecks of glitter that dusted my skin, making me look even more stunning and shimmery!

Looking at myself in the mirror, my thoughts reflected on Integrity and my personal fondness of; and why no one else seemed to adore and revere Him as much as I…? How could our people not see Him like I could?

These thoughts made me realize that I had to, in fact, try and bring about the issue again. To make our people aware of the importance. Just thinking of it all burdened me with a weight so strong, it felt as though it was pulling me under into a sea of worry. Feeling the pressure of having the desire to share, and not knowing how to do so while avoiding hammering ridicule was too much to bear. There just has to be someone out there who thinks and feels like me when it comes to Integrity. Too bad I haven’t found that special someone yet.

Taking a final look into the mirror, Ertifferrah leans back as her eyes slowly creep up the reflection to examine herself one last time. To her surprise, she locked eyes with an image not her own!  Instead of seeing herself, she saw someone else, another female, who did in fact resemble Ertifferrah, but looked more mature than she. The image of this modish encounter looked as if she’d gone through many, many adversities and the look of sheer strength and wisdom was a reward for enduring whatever it was she endured.

The reflection of the young woman really scared Ertifferrah but she knew if she told someone, they'd think of her as crazy. Then again, what’s new…?

The lady in the mirror raised her hands to her lips,

warning her to remain silent.

Agreeing to keep calm, she stiffly nodded her head at the mirror. Turning around to face the other adults in the room, Ertifferrah politely asked, “May I please have a few moments alone?”

Certainly,” Mother said with a warm smile and a quick hug. The door closed behind her, as she, her husband, and Akana joined the rest of the party.

Down the hall, Ertifferrah parents whispered amongst themselves as Akana listened.

Our daughter’s infatuation for the sun is beginning to take its toll, she’s going overboard with this, and it won’t be long before the others start to notice,” Said mother.

“Start to notice?!” Father shouted, ”What do you mean ‘start to notice’? Everybody around here knows she’s different and not just because Lady Governess treats her as one of her own, and you know this.” He added; “Thankfully, because of the connection they share, people tend to overlook our daughter’s bewildered obsession with the sun and pass it off as a simple fetish.  There's a difference between adoration for Integrity and being a complete neurotic.”

So you think our daughters crazy?

Exhaling wearily fathers eyes rolled partially back before he spoke slowly and clear through a tense jaw; “I just think that after today, you sit down and talk to her again.”

Making light of the situation, Aunt Akana tried to end the conversation by showing both of them that there could be a happy medium to the small quandary. Setting down her glass, she glanced across the table and plopped down in a chair in a huff. You two have got to lighten up! She said with a peppy smile. I’ll just start going around telling everyone that your daughter is seriously interested in becoming an Astrologer.”

“This is not the time right now for your jokes,” father said as he led the way to the kitchen, and they followed. “This could be a problem and then again, maybe not.”

“What do you think we should do?” Mother asked them, signs of worry etched upon her face.

Passing glasses filled with cherry wine around the circular table, father speaks; let’s just take this moment as it is and save the debriefings for a later date if necessary.  As of right now, my little girl isn’t a little girl anymore; she’s a beautiful woman, just like her mother.”

Raising their glasses in the air for a toast, they agreed to his closing statements.

“Hello?  Are you there?”  She asked timidly.  Looking at the mirror with mixed feelings, hoping to see the reflection and then again, hoping not. Minutes crept by as she stood there waiting but only saw her own reflectionTaking it a step further, she tapped her polished fingernails on the glass, but nothing happened.

A little relieved, she exhaled deeply letting the blood flow through her body while counting backward from eight. This was a form of relaxing meditation she picked up from her aunt a few years ago.

“Okay, I’m ready!” Walking quickly to the bedroom door she clutched the doorknob and turned it hard. Sliding back the door, she stopped and took a look at a picture she and her mother were in. Father had taken the picture of them sitting on a large deep-grey unicorn that Ertifferrah had chosen for the two to ride on in the beautiful carousel.

He always knew how to really capture the moments in his pictures. It was as if he literally worked magic into each one so that anytime someone looked at them, they were invited back into that moment.

Before opening leaving, she made a note to borrow the picture so that she could make an enlarged copy of it to hang in her bedroom.

Being seven years old again is physically impossible but somehow with her father’s pictures, she thought that if she tried hard enough, then maybe, she could reach the impossible.

Mounting the picture back on the wall, she blotted out a tear from the corner of her eye and exited the room to make her official debut as a woman; to a room filled with anticipating family and friends.
