“Octavious, get me out of here!”  She pleaded in a complete panic.  “We have to go!  We have to leave!”

“I know!  But please, you have to calm down first before we can make any type of move, okay?”

She breathed deeply, “Huh, okay, I’m sorry.  But how are we going to get out of here?

“It’s not as hard as it may seem.”  He instantly disappeared in front of her eyes and reappeared beside a massive marble pillar, several feet away.

“WOAH!”  Erica scrambled from the bed, fascinated.  “How’d you do that?!”

“All in good time, Erica, in good time.”

*

Erica gathered her belongings while Octavious eagerly waited.  Both of them depart from the bed chamber and enter back into the lobby part of the room.

The door slid open; Octavious poked his head out to check for clearance.  “Okay, come on.”

In the broad halls, they darted hand in hand, past dozens upon dozens of rooms.  Smiles were on their faces, even though they were fully aware of the consequences of being caught. The thrill kept both of them on their toes. Feeling as one, legs running, sharing the same stride, heart, and feet pouncing meticulously to the same rhythm, they loved the moment.

“Quick, in here!” Octavious whispered, suddenly stopping.  “We aren’t going to have time.”

“Time for what?”

“Never mind that right now.  I think someone saw us!  We gotta go, NOW!”

They checked the halls. They were clear.

Before we are safe, we gotta get to the hall where the servants always skip; because it doesn’t really need to be cleaned; so keep up,” he ordered.  Erica was toe to toe with him, running for what seemed like at least a good two and a half minutes.

He made a quick turn left and stopped dead in his tracks.  Extending his right arm back to slow Erica, he pulled her into another room to duck from the servants, and they waited until they could no longer hear the footsteps and chatty voices.

Octavious peaked through the crack of the door to check.

Erica leaned in, resting her chin on his shoulder, then inhaled sharply, preparing to speak.

“Shh!” he turned and said, pressing his pointer finger to her lips.

“Listen up, as soon as you enter the hallway, follow me and start running as if your life depended on it…because it does,” he said sternly.  “Don’t look back.  When I say ‘go’, you better go.”

“Ready, one, two, thee, GO!!!”  He commanded.  Erica had never heard a guy, any guy, vocalize such an order. Octavious’s voice was completely brave but contained a tinge of fear that made her focus and try her hardest.

As they ran up the hall, at full sprint, Octavious chanted an ancient Akasha prayer aloud:

Speed by day

And speed by night

I shall forth possess the powers all my might!

With power in my legs

I pray for you to reveal the light

To a portal which brings to me new life….

**

Sparkles of light flashed from the bottom corners at the end of the hall and expanded into the shape of the two doors that Erica had seen in the gift room of Lady Governess.  But how?  She thought, putting two and two together and realizing it was Octavious who blew past her that day in the gift room, and it was him who made those doors appear out of thin air! It was him!

“Okay, that’s done,” said Octavious, grabbing hold of Erica’s hand, as they continued running. “This is the game plan. Since I’ve made it my business to make you mine, and on blind faith, I’m trusting that you want to be with me, and honestly there’s no time to figure that out right now, I need you to take my hand and hold on tight.  Grab me like you’re about to lose me and don’t want to ever let me go!”

Unwavering, she took his outstretched hand, and like was a baton being passed to the next leg in a race, Octavious took her hand and exploded hot off the blocks!  Lowering his head, gaining momentum with every stride, UUUGGGGGHHH, AHHHHHHHHHH!!!! Juices from the core of his stomach rushed throughout his body smoother than a new automobile as he continued leaning forward.

Faster and faster, he ran at an increasingly insurmountable pace.  Objects wilted into no more than a blur.

“This is the part I don’t like!” He shouted.

They approached a huge mirror the length of the entire wall, from head to toe.

“This is the part I don’t like!” he shouted, trying to give Erica an idea of what was in store, but she couldn’t hear because of the whisking of the winds.

They approached what appeared to be the end of the hall, or let’s say the start of the hall where they had first begun running. A reflection of both Octavious and herself was being replayed, right before their eyes! A huge mirror! Then, the picture quickly changed and played what they were doing at that exact moment, but in reverse!

“Uhhh, Octavious, stop! Stop!”  Erica shouted.

“Don’t let go!” he shouted.  The closer he approached, the louder the screaming, whistling noise blared horrifically.

Realizing he wasn’t going to stop, she braced and buried her face into his shirt seconds before they charged full-throttle into the enormous mirror!

Waaaamm! Smashing into the mirror, they both cried out as shards of glass disbursed into millions of pieces. Octavious and Erica were suspending in time, their bodies hung in a balance between two worlds. Bodies feeling as though they were being torn painlessly apart; the two floated on.
